First Impressions : Avon Bright Start Foundation

Hi guys :)

Today I'll write about the new Avon foundation which is called Bright Start. For Slovenian readers, you can buy it in the current Catalogue for 7,90€.

It's supposed to be a fresh look foundation, contains SPF 15 and you get 30 ml of product. I have to say I'm not a fan of the packaging, it's just a plastic tube and to me it looks really cheap. It gives more of a dewy finish (I have oily skin so I have to put powder over it) and good coverage, but I'd say it's more of a tinted moisturizer than a foundation (except the coverage, which is better).

I love that it has a pump. Another great thing about this is that it contains super foods like pomegranate and orange extract and contains collagen and elastin which instantly boosts skin’s moisture.

There are 5 different shades that you can choose from. I've bought it in Nude, which is the lightest shade.

However, it looks quite orangey on me so I don't know if I'll mix it with other foundations or what.. :/ It is a bit too dark, so I decided to compare it with Avon's Calming Effects Matiffying Foundation which I also own in shade Nude and it fits my skin colour perfectly. (I've written about it HERE)

As you can see above, the Nude shade of Avon Bright Start Foundation is darker.

Except the shade I quite like it, it really feels lightweight and it contains great ingredients, so I'd recommend this one, if you can find your shade. So again, I really recommend you to order samples before the full bottle :))

I hope you liked this post and if you tried this foundation, let me know your opinion! ;)

Oh and don't forget about my GIVEAWAY :) You can participate till 10th of May!

xoxo,
Katja

Empties #5

Hello cuties! :)

Today's post is about empty products that have accumulated through the last month.

There's not as many as I thought :D

Ebelin Professional Nagellack-Entferner - love love love, nothing else for this product :D I've wrote about this a couple of times already. It's actually a nail polish remover, that you put a finger in it and just turn it around, and the nail polish is removed. Works like magic. I'm not going back to the regular remover :D

Repurchase: Already did.

Essence Soft Touch Mousse Make-Up - oh this product I had for a very long time. I didn't really like it, I much prefer a Catrice Mousse, which looks more natural than this. It still isn't completely empty, but it's just too old and also a bit too dark for me so it had to go :)

Repurchase: No.

Aveo Nagellackentferner - a cheap nail polish remover, worked nice. However, I really did not like the smell, and I only used it when I didn't have other removers :D That's why I've had it for quite some time and finally it's gone.

Repurchase: Definitely not.

Balea Dry Deospray - you have seen this deodorant on my blog probably a 100 times :D I just love it and it works for me great, it's cheap, so I keep repurchasing.

Repurchase: Yes!

Dove Silk Glow Shower Gel - amaaaazing shower gel, smells so nice, my skin was very smooth after showering and the smell actually stayed on me for a couple of hours, which I really like. Pure love, except for the price, which is quite high considering you can get Balea shower gels for half price of Dove ones.

Repurchase: Probably, when it's on sale.

Avon Naturals Shampoo - contains chamomile & aloe. Smells nice, like chamomiles, but it did not work that great for me. It actually made my hair dry.

Repurchase: No.

L'angelica Herbal Toothpaste sample - this toothpaste is very good. I love that it contains natural extracts of thyme, Juniper, rosemary and sage. No fluoride is definitely a big plus! Smells really like herbs and I liked it a lot. Considering it's a natural toothpaste it's very cheap. If I didn't have problems with bleeding gums I'd buy it again in no time! However, because of that problem, I'm loyal to Paradontax toothpaste, without flouride of course.

Purchase: Maybe in the future.

That's it for this empties :) If you tried any of the products, let me know your opinion ;) (Oh and stay tuned, I'm preparing a giveaway for tomorrow! ;))

Katja

REVIEW: Avon MagiX Face Perfector

Hello everyone! :)

I've not been posting a lot because I've been quite busy with school but that's going to change ;)

Today I have a review for you of Avon Magix face perfector which is actually a face primer. I've been trying it quite some time now.

What Avon says: "A magical new air-light gel-powder colorless formula that makes all skin tones look flawless... invisible coverage; instant perfection. This colorless formula is perfect for anyone who want to look naturally flawless and beautiful without looking like you're wearing any makeup."

This face primer has a  semi thick consistency, white colour and a horrible smell! This was the first thing that really bothered me, I can't describe the smell but it is veeery bad.

You get 30 ml of product and I think I paid about 5-6€ for it, but the price changes through the catalogues. However, it's still quite expensive for a product that does not work.

I think it might work for people that don't have a very oily skin and very large pores. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

After the application I don't see any difference. My pores are still visible and my skin is still shiny. It didn't even help me with foundation lasting longer. The only good thing I can say about this is that it has SPF 20.

PROS:
- spf 20
- travel friendly

CONS:
- horrible smell!!
- not suitable for extremely oily skin & large pores
- the foundation doesn't last longer
- price
- silicone feeling

My opinion on this primer is very bad, it's not the right for me and I think it's not suitable for people with very oily skin and large pores.

Have you tried this? Let me know your opinion! :)

March Favorites

Hey everyone! :)

March favorites post is here & there are only 3 products that are very favorite this month. Otherwise I've been constantly using the same products that I showed you in my February favorites, HERE. :)

NAILS

I've bought this Catrice Gel-like Topcoat I think 2 months ago and barely started using it this month. So far I've been enjoying it. It does give a nice glossy finish, but the nail polish doesn't last longer because of it. However, putting it over the nail gems or studs, they do stay on longer. I think it was discontinued, but you can still get it in some DM's.

FACE/BODY

Both products are from the same line, Avon Planet Spa Amazonian Treasures. I bought Hydrating face mask and a body scrub. They smell like berries, so sweet! :)

The face mask comes in a 75 ml tube. It has a jelly-like consistancy (purple colour:P) and makes my skin feel extremely refreshed.

This body scrub is actually more on a gentle side because it is very creamy. But it is very nourishing and can also be used as a shaving cream. I'm excited everytime I open it because of it's beautiful colour and the smell which is phenomenal!

That's it for this month, I hope you enjoyed. I appreciate every comment <3 (Oh and you can follow me also on Instagram: confessionsofamakeupshopaholic and now on Facebook: Confessions of a make-up shopaholic)
