REVIEW: Avon Mark. Spectralash Mascara

Hello everyone :)

Avon has some new products and today I’m going to share my review of the Spectralash mascara with you. The Mark. line is basically just the old products that have been updated (changed the packaging) and to be completely honest with you, I hate that they're trying to promote it like they're new products, because they're not, it really annoys me :D

It's the same with this Spectralash mascara. Yes, it's a nice and innovative concept, however Avon already had a "three step" Spectralash mascara back in 2009. It's basically a mascara with a built in dial that dials up to three to intensify your mascara experience. All you have to do is twist up the packaging to customize your preferred level of volume. I was so eager to try it and see if it really works.

The overall formula is quite good with a nice inky formula. It’s waterproof and has nice long wear. It doesn’t keep curl particularly well, but it does a great job of creating fuller, longer, thicker lashes when dialed up to three.

I prefer the mascara stay dialed to three for the best results as 1 and 2 give my lashes a rather whimpy look but dialed to three they look nice and plump. However, you do have to be careful as this setting puts quite an excess of product on the brush which could cause clumping when applied. It happens to me quite often and I really hate the look of clumped lashes.

Without any mascara:

Dialed to 1:

Dialed to 2:

Dialed to 3:

As you can see from the pictures above, the mascara does give you a nice length, but it comes with a price - clumped lashes. I'm not sure if it will be better with time, when it will be more dry or not, I'll just have to wait and see :D I use it with another mascara to make sure it separates my lashes and they don't look like spiders.

Overall, It’s worth checking out for the price if you don't mind the look of clumped lashes or if you will use it with another mascara because the length is really nice.

What do you think? :)

Happy Sunday <3

REVIEW: Catrice "Pulse Of Purism" LE - Pure Radiance Glowrizer

Hey guys :)

Catrice has recently come out with a limited edition called "Pulse of Purism". The product that really caught my eye was the pure radiance glowrizer.

It costs 4,99€ and it's basically a primer with light-reflecting pigments in the form of gel beads. It can be worn alone or under foundation, which I prefer.

It has a pump and when you press it the pearls are crushed and give you this shimmery effect. It has a gel like consistency and it absorbs quickly.

I have to say it's really glittery, but I use a small amount (one pump) and I use it before I apply the foundation. I like the glow it gives me so basically it does what they say it's suppose to do - gives a glow. Great alternative if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

I have to say it's a really fun product but if you don't like glitter that much you may not like it. I think it's fun and interesting, love it under the foundation!

Have you tried it, what do you think? :)

Happy Friday <3

REVIEW: Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation

Hey everyone :)

Last month I bought the Rimmel's newest foundation called Fresher Skin. I've been testing it long enough now to give a proper opinion ;)

The Fresher Skin Foundation is advertised as a light breathable coverage for an even, natural-looking, fresh finish that stays shine-free all day. It contains natural mineral powders that help absorb excess oil, while the formula with Aloe, Chamomile & Sea Algae extracts help reduce redness and evens out natural skin tone. You get 25ml of product for around 7€. I got mine in shade 100 Ivory which is the lightest one in the range, but it's still a bit too dark for me however I can make it work.

It comes in a pot and that kinda makes it messy to use, but it doesn't bother me. The texture is quite similar to Match Perfection foundation, very smooth and silky. It can be a bit awkward to put onto a brush or a beauty blender. This foundation is amazing, it blends in so well and doesn’t feel heavy on my face at all.

As expected, the product doesn't offer great coverage, though it does cover some redness. It doesn't hide any of my spots or blemishes. The coverage is light so keep that in mind if you don't like light coverage foundations.

A major point for this is that I think this looks so much better when applied with a brush rather than a beauty blender, only because it's such a fine consistency.

Overall, If you’re looking for a good light coverage foundation that’s going to leave skin looking healthy and super natural, then this is a good foundation to add to your makeup bag considering the price and the results after one layer. If you’re more comfortable with a medium-high coverage foundation, or something that’s light and buildable which will hide blemishes, there are better products out there for you!

I'd love to hear your opinion on this foundation in the comments below ;)

Have a lovely day guys,
Katja
